We are beyond excited to have recently won WAM’s Heavy / Metal song of the year award, WA’s premier song competition, for the track “Of King And Tree” off the 2016 EP “Resistivity“.
Held at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle on May 17th, the event celebrated some of Western Australia’s top artists which included categories in a wide range of genres from rock, blues, hip hop, country and metal.
Independently and anonymously judged by a diverse panel of music industry experts from the likes of triple j, The Drones, Pendulum, Mix 94.5, RTRFM, X-Press Magazine, Perfect Pitch Publishing, TheMusic.com.au, Spotify, Nannup Music Festival, Pilerats, Radio Birdman and many more, the list of winners reflect the extraordinary depth of WA songwriting talent. Ranging from established leaders in their genres (including WAMAwards and past #WAMSOTY winners) to exciting revelations with big futures ahead.
We would like to thank WAM and the judges for giving us this award. Also thanks Matthew from Templeman Audio and Simon from Forensic Audio for recording, mixing and mastering this track, Davide from Eklipse Media for making the killer video, Chris from Maric Media for spreading the word to the masses as our publicist and Nas for doing all the accompanying artwork for this release as well as our previous ones! Special thanks to our loving partners for being there for us through it all. We would also like to take this opportunity to mention a very important person in our band who is our awesome manager and best friend of ours, Andrew from The Rockpit. He has been a strong supporter of ours since the conception of the band and we have been fortunate to have him joined the team just over a year ago. Thank you for your commitment and passion for Nucleust. Also congratulations to all bands who were nominated in different categories. Finally, massive thanks to our fans and friends, and thanks to everyone for your support.
We are currently recording our full length debut album with
renowned producer Forrester Savell handling the mixing and mastering. Stay tuned for a big update on the album plus future touring!
